Case Histories — Wood Wool Board, Natural Plasterboard
The Requirement
- During a refurb on a period property, in one room the services were too close to the timber ceiling joists.
- There wasn't enough clearance above potential riven laths to apply lime in this manner.
- The architect insisted on replacing with Riven Lath & lime plaster or find a suitable alternative.
- A high quality skim finish was needed.
Project Details
- High end residential in Grosvenor Estate and a Grade 2 listed building.
The Solution
- Natural fibre Wood Wool Boards, an alternative to plasterboard
- Traditional lime plaster applications were employed over the boards
- Glass fibre mesh was added for reinforcement & crack control
- Super smooth lime finish plaster completed the works to allow for decoration.
